This is a basic process for diagnosing connectivity issues and resolving problems.
Prerequisites:
Administrative Access to all internet and routing devices (Andy has?)
Internet Modem (dish network)
Wireless Access Point
Wireless Repeater
Some wireless internet devices to test signal (Tony & Andy have)
A laptop with Ethernet cable to adjust devices (Tony has)
Process
Step 1: Diagnose wireless internet constraints by asking three questions
Is the service provider's internet connection robust? tool: http://www.speedtest.net/ minimally acceptable test results: A) Responds to Ping <50 ms; B) Upload Speed > 0.5 Mbs; C) Download Speed > 1.0 MBA
Is the wireless access point distributing robust wireless signal throughout the house? tool: Wireless Device (mobile device or laptop) & Router minimally acceptable test results: A) 2.5 ghz frequency - Signal Noise < 75% ; B) 5 ghz frequency - Signal Noise < 75%
Is the wireless security consistent across all networking devices?
